This mid-terrace new build property had a 'builders garden' with a rectangular lawn that sloped gently away from the house to the school playing fields beyond.

Client Brief
It was felt that the garden looked long and narrow and lacked any interest. The lawn was shaped into a circle to create the impression of width. Rather than a gentle slope a distinct level change was introduced which served two purposes; it created interest and also allowed a small green house to be partially obscured beyond the sleeper retained level change. The owner is a keen gardener and many plants had been rescued from the previous property so that they could be incorporated into the planting
