Cobblestone Driveway Garden
A generous cobblestone path welcomes you to the front door of this traditional family home. The cobblestone setts are laid in an arc design that links the parking area, new planting areas and gated side access. The long arc accentuates the width of the garden creating a feeling of space.

Client Brief
The existing area at the front of the house was more driveway than garden, it was mainly covered with Tarmac which made it functional but not practical or welcoming. The clients wanted the space to feel more like a garden but equally they wanted the ability to drive the cars in forwards and not have to reverse out onto the road. The vehicle gates were widened and a pedestrian gate was added. Cobblestone setts were used extensively to construct the paths and the division between materials. The solution to a welcoming entrance is simplicity and practicality.
